Session Topic: GLP-1s and PCOS/PMOS: The Latest Evidence

Vanita Aroda, MD, is the Director of Diabetes Clinical Research at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA, and is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Aroda completed her training in Internal Medicine and in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of California San Diego, CA, USA.

Dr. Aroda’s contributions include understanding the efficacy and safety of novel therapeutics in diabetes, obesity, and cardiometabolic health, evaluating and understanding the long-term effects of diabetes prevention efforts, overseeing and supporting best practices in the conduct of clinical trials, and in supporting person-centered mentorship. Dr. Aroda has been a contributing voice, investigator and leader in many of the GLP-RA and incretin therapeutic programs over the past two decades, contributing evidence and publications toward their approval and clinical use.

Dr. Aroda has made substantial contributions to the current Standards of Care through her involvement in the American Diabetes Association (ADA) Professional Practice Committee and the international ADA-EASD Consensus Group for the Management of Hyperglycemia in Type 2 Diabetes, helping to bring forward the paradigm shift toward holistic person-centered therapeutic approaches. Dr. Aroda applies a similar person-centered approach to mentorship, helping early career individuals find their areas of interest and define their individualized development goals. Dr. Aroda appreciates the opportunities to advance the health of all through involvement in clinical trials and in paying forward mentorship to support individuals in their research and career trajectories.
