
Deetya Tandon
Adolescent Program: Innovation Lab
Deetya Tandon is an adolescent health advocate who was diagnosed with PCOS as a teenager. Her advocacy focuses on ensuring that other young people feel supported and heard as they manage the condition.
Deetya is a student at Mercersburg Academy and the founder and president of CARE4WORLD, a nonprofit she started in 2025. She leads a team of 10 student members who coordinate fundraising and outreach for medical and hygiene kits, clothing drives and educational resources.
Her academic experience includes the Harvard Medical School Genetics Program, the Rutgers Medical School SMART Program and the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists. Her capstone research examined tunneling magnetoresistance biosensors for early malaria detection, and she led a Future City team to the Best Surveying Practices Award.
