Dawnkimberly “Kim” Hopkins, PhD, WHNP-BC, is Founder and CEO of PCOS Paragon Health & Consulting Services, LLC and Co-Chair of the Scientific Research Committee on the PCOS Challenge Patient Advisory Board. She served as a panelist for the Externally-Led Patient-Focused Drug Development meeting that informed the PCOS Voice of the Patient Report.
Dr. Hopkins is a retired military healthcare professional, PCOS researcher, and patient advocate. She served 30 years with the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force, including 10 years focused on PCOS awareness and support for servicewomen. As a board-certified women’s health nurse practitioner, she observed the impact of PCOS on active-duty service members and pursued a PhD in nursing science focused on PCOS in the military. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship with the NIH Office of Research on Women’s Health (ORWH), during which she published an NIH/ORWH-supported PCOS information booklet and participated in working groups advancing PCOS initiatives. Dr. Hopkins has published research assessing the relationship between PCOS and obesity, as well as PCOS and pain. She was a member of the International PCOS Network, the body that developed the 2023 International Evidence-based Guideline for the Assessment and Management of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.
