Massachusetts State Senator Liz Miranda represents the Second Suffolk District, which includes Roxbury, Dorchester, Mattapan, Hyde Park, Mission Hill, Jamaica Plain, the South End, Roslindale and the Fenway.
Senator Miranda is the Senate sponsor of S.2173, An Act designating September as PCOS awareness month, legislation that would establish annual statewide recognition of PCOS Awareness Month in Massachusetts. She also sponsored the Senate version of the legislation during the previous legislative session.
Throughout her time in the Legislature, Senator Miranda has advanced a robust legislative and budget agenda centered on closing the racial wealth gap and advancing health equity, environmental justice and housing justice.
Senator Miranda currently serves as Senate Chair of the Racial Equity, Civil Rights and Inclusion Committee, Vice Chair of the Committee on Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities and as a member of the Ways and Means Committee. In these roles, she focuses on equity in state spending, procurement and supplier diversity, while ensuring that local, state and federal resources reach Boston neighborhoods and build long-term community wealth.
