William Patterson

William Patterson is a Founding Board Member and currently serves as Director of Public Affairs for PCOS Challenge: The National Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association. As part of PCOS Challenge’s legislative advocacy efforts, William has trained over 500 people including patient advocates, healthcare providers, and students on health policy and legislative advocacy for PCOS. William helped form the Bipartisan Congressional PCOS Caucus in the U. S. Congress. He also helped build a coalition of over 70 major national and international health organizations and led the first successful legislative advocacy effort in the U. S. Congress to recognize the seriousness of PCOS; the need for further research, improved treatment and care options, and for a cure for PCOS; and to designate September as PCOS Awareness Month. William has extensive experience in media and media advocacy. In addition to being a contributor to various national media outlets, William has helped develop one of the largest multimedia bodies of evidence-based content dedicated to PCOS, which includes television, radio, print, and online resources. William is an Executive Producer of the national award-winning cable television series, PCOS Challenge. He is also a producer of the PCOS Challenge radio show and a member of the editorial team for PCOS Challenge magazine. William is currently directing the committees developing the PCOS National Health Policy Agenda, PCOS Challenge Patient Registry, PCOS Challenge Peer Support and Empowerment Program, and the Externally-Led Patient-Focused Drug Meeting on PCOS .
