EVENT OVERVIEW
The Rise to the Challenge Gala benefits PCOS Challenge: The National Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association, a 501(c)(3) public charity. The Gala was created to shine a light on polycystic ovary syndrome, infertility and metabolic health as well as recognize outstanding individuals and leading organizations making a significant impact on PCOS patients, advocacy efforts, research and care.
Proceeds from the Rise to the Challenge Gala help fund critical PCOS support, awareness, advocacy, education, health screenings, grant and research programs.
Together, we are changing the future for millions of women and families affected by PCOS.

For more than a decade, PCOS Challenge: The National Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association has been the leading support and advocacy organization globally that is advancing the cause for women and girls affected by polycystic ovary syndrome. Serving over 50,000 members, PCOS Challenge touches the lives of women with PCOS and their supporters each year through television and radio programming, support groups, grants, health screenings and awareness, education, research, and advocacy initiatives.
ABOUT POLYCYSTIC OVARY SYNDROME (PCOS)
PCOS is a serious genetic, hormone, metabolic and reproductive disorder that affects up to 15% of women in the U.S. and hundreds of millions of women globally. PCOS is one of the leading causes of infertility in women. PCOS can lead to lifelong complications, psychosocial disorders, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, uterine cancer, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and other life-threatening conditions. PCOS is one of the most common human disorders and one of the most neglected and underfunded areas of health considering its prevalence, morbidity, and negative impact on quality of life.

PCOS Challenge’s premier philanthropy award honors an individual, family or organization with a proven record of exceptional generosity who, through direct financial support, demonstrates outstanding civic and charitable responsibility and whose generosity encourages others to take philanthropic leadership roles related to PCOS.
Public Service Leadership Award
Recognizes outstanding leadership by an elected public official on issues of importance to PCOS patients and the scientific and medical communities.
Agent of Change Philanthropy Award
Honors an individual, family or organization with a proven record of exceptional generosity who, through direct financial support, demonstrates outstanding civic and charitable responsibility and whose generosity encourages others to take philanthropic leadership roles in a community.
Ricardo Azziz Advocacy Leadership Award
Recognizes individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication to advocacy and public policy efforts that expand access to resources and support for women and girls with polycystic ovary syndrome. PCOS Challenge named the advocacy leadership award in honor of Dr. Ricardo Azziz, an international authority on polycystic ovary syndrome and one of the country’s most impactful advocates for the PCOS patient community.
